Radeon x600 video card problems
Hi
Sapphire Radeon x600 PCI-E problems
my system
MSI K8N NEO4 with latest bios
1gb crucial memory
amd 3000 cpu
I am experiencing problems with sapphire x600 xt 128mb video card. Once pc loads into windows and I start doing regular tasks like opening browser window, ms word and so on, all of the sudden the screen starts showing garbage and then it switches back to “normal” with the popup window saying “ “VPU Recover” hardware deadlock. Running on software acceleration, please restart pc to enable hardware acceleration”. Obviously without hardware acceleration all windows refresh very slowly. I tried restarting many times and it didn’t help. I tried catalyst drivers 5.3 and 5.4 didn’t help. I tried REDLINE tweak utility (from sapphire) and reduced Dac and ram clock to 400/300 (from 500/375 default) and that didn’t help.
other things i tried
bumping up ram voltage from 2.5 to 2.6V. (strangle now when video crashes my lcd screen instead of garbage goes black with message SCAN out of range or something like that, and goes back to windows with VPU Recover message mentioned above)
bumping up NF4 chipset voltage
is my video card kaput?
