I got connected to the Bulldog 4 meg broadband service the other day, and since then my connection has only been about 1.8meg download and about 100k upload.

I tried using my Speedtouch 330 today on a whim, and was amazed to see a connection speed of 3.4meg downlaod and 576k upload.

This means that the DG834Gt isnt configured correctly, but I'm not sure how to correct it. Can anyone help ?

My basic settings are correct, so are the ADSL settings.

The only thing that I can think of is the firewall rules.
Also, my previous ISP was Pipex, and the DG834GT function at top speed with that connection (512k download/ 128 upload)

Hi,
Your router just show the speed it connect to the DSLAM ...and i had the same problem two month ago ..but i'm in france...
My DG834 show 2532 ko down and 768 ko up ...or i use  a 512/128 ADSL Line.

So i went on the netgear website and download the last  beta firmware that solve the problem ...
Be very carefull while upgrading the firmware and follow carefully the instructions provide by netgear.

And as far i know, the firewall rules CAN'T affect the speed the router can connect to.

Best regards.
