HP A230N desktop reboots itself on shut down
I have a client who has an HP A230N desktop and whenever it is shut it down, it always proceeds to reboot itself.
The only way to actually shut it down is to hold in the power button.
The computer has done this from day one but no one ever bothered to contact HP and now it's out of warranty. The OS is Win XP Home SP1
any suggestions?

Also check in the BIOS and see if it has a setting to control how the power button acts when pressed. Sounds like it is set to reset. Should be in Power Management, but could be anywhere.
