Asus A7N8X-X & Sempron CPU Issues

Hi All,

I have recently upgraded my A7N8X-X to the 1010x BIOS revision. It states under this that the Sempron is a supported CPU. After I rebooted, it stated the CPU is an Athlon XP 1Ghz. I can find no options under the BIOS other than clock speed settings, where I could possibly manipulate the CPU speed etc. Even so, it still woudlnt report it as the correct CPU type, also, I cant get the speed advantage of it!

I dont suppose anyone has come across this before?

try the "load optimized defaults" option in your bios, that's what fixes it for me on an a7n8x-e when my athlon xp 3200 is reported as an athlon xp 1ghz
