Can I install X after TEXT BASED install?
I have an old TIGERBOOK NOTEBOOK 333mhz 64mb ram. Trying to install VECTORLINUX 4.3 Install goes fine until X WINDOWS setup where it just hangs. Im thinking funky video chipset. Is there a backdoor around this to install TEXT BASED FIRST and then X or some other graphical interface? Very little online for this notebook-if at all.
it's an offshot, but after getting into the console, you can try:
mkdir -p /mnt/loop/veclinux/
and retry the x installation
mkdir -p /mnt/loop/veclinux/
and retry the x installation

Here's what is going on....
After attempting to install X during setup, install stops with this message:
/usr/bin/linux: cannot create/mnt/loop/veclinux/l

Everything was hunky dory up until now. Now I'm really stuck after extricating myself from some other LINUX problems before this. TEXT BASED install had exactly the same problem. What can I do???
