you can use Everest to identify hardware :

http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4181

If you post the model, we can look for the drivers.
Is this a separate modem card or an onboard modem?

if it says "no dialtone " then it does not see the telephone line; can you test the line with a phone? or try using another cable.
>>  i have a external isdn modem and that was working fine  <<< was that on the same line, and with the same cable as you are testing now? then i suppose you have a bad modem

This is not a ISDN modem but it shows when i use your software for diagnose my
modem.

forget about isdn because this not a isdn modem its shows only.
( one more thing i have found this is a conexant modem because its original cd have a hxfsetup.exe file)

This modem working fine with Windows XP with Intel 537 Modem Drivers.

but when i try to install in windows 98 modem was not found the drivers in auto search drivers.
after i have install modem manually select the driver( with compatiblity option YES/NO i have select YES)

then i try to diagnose the modem in modem list ( daignose options)

then blue screen appaears and tell me this

Fatal Execption at OE occured at 0028:?????????? in VXD basic2(01)

then close the daignose and return the windows.

after many drivers search from conexant i have found some better driver for this modem

and this driver works find at daignose the modem

every things is ok when i daignose my modem

but

when i dial internet connection after 2 minutes windows tell me that modem does responding please check your modem plugin.

please advice

I do not understand you :
-in your post per  Date: 05/17/2005 03:24AM PDT    you say :" I have installed these drivers and connect modem with ISDN line"
Now per   05/17/2005 02:57PM PDT    you say "This is not a ISDN modem but it shows when i use your software for diagnose my modem.
forget about isdn because this not a isdn modem its shows only."    <<<<--------What is it? isdn or not?

this too is puzzling me :"( one more thing i have found this is a conexant modem because its original cd have a hxfsetup.exe file)" <<<------why is it conexant?

And this "this is the windows xp drivers and its working perfectly in windows xp.

and when i install the same drivers version for windows 98 se

that was not working"   <<--- you cannot install the same drivers for XP and win98, in win98 you must use the win98 driver

i hope i am clear? because i think there is some misunderstanding here

Answeres as per your questions

1. Not a ISDN modem
2. because its have the drivers files just like conexant models or may be this is conexant chipset
3. yes windows xp drivers working perfectly
4. i do not install the xp drivers in windows 98, i have install the 98 drivers but VXD error BASIC2(01) (after Fresh 98 install)

my questions:

1. i have downloaded several drivers but not working the same VXD error i have in every drivers.(windows 98)
2. i have download the Intel 537 modem drivers for windows 98 the same problem when i install modem.
3. please let me know where is the windows 98 driver for same model Tiger Jet 300 Intel 537 so i will download it and install it because there is no windows 98 drivers found at http://list.driverguide.com/list/company1194/
