While trying to install MSDE 2000 Release A, I received an error 'A strong SA password is required for security reasons.   Please use SAPWD switch to supply the same.  Refer to readme for more details.  Setup will now exit."

what can I do to make the installation be successful? I have no idea where to set SA password.

I am running windows xp professional, however, I am using remote desktop to install MSDE runing windows server 2003, all installation files are located on the remote server machine. I have administrator right to that machine.

use this in your command prompt (or in the run menu)

if u want to access MSDE from remote machines (thu Query Analyser) then use

setup SAPWD="AStrongPassword" SECURITYMODE=SQL
