In terms of books, I'd recommend these book. It will kick you off in a great start in PS if you are a beginner.

Ooops! Forgot the books. The Clasroom in a Book series by Adobe Press is always good and packed with good stuff. Also the Unleashed series is good.

Hi David,

If you want more advanced techniques and upgrade to the next level, try http://www.computerarts.co.uk/ . They are a magazine based out of UK and I find them very resourceful ( I am a subscriber) and don't treat you like some novice and cuts to the chase in advanced techniques. Sometimes it gets too daunting because of its complex nature. I think it is better to subscribe to a mag is better than buying books because the books' content tend to get outdated sooner but the magazines will evolve. A must shelf stocker!!

Regarding your Q about the CS2 vs. CS, for me, I am not pretty excited about the CS2 but I am thrilled about the new LIVE PAINT tool in illustrator. I will certainly upgrade Illustrator.

God Speed!
