what kind of VPN do you have? do you have split-tunnel enabled?
I suspect your VPN tunnel is tunnelling everything, so after you VPNed in, your Internet browsing is actually going through the tunnel and then go out. Also check your DNS settings when you are VPNed.

Thanks,

if this is the ipconfig/all after VPNed, then all your Internet traffic is going to your company network first and then routed to Internet from there, not from your local ISP, that is why it is slow. It's a common security practice: tunnel everything, in another word, once you VPNed, all your local network access is disabled, all your network traffic will be tunneled to VPN server. I don't think you can do anything to change or improve your Internet speed since it is controlled by the VPN server that you connect to. you may want to ask your net admin about that.
