Is there a quick and inexpensive way to get the length of an image column?
I need to have the byte count to get an accurate idea of download times.
so something like len(imagecol) which only works for strings.

Use the Datalength() function

Select DATALENGTH(imagecol) FROM Table1 where recid = ????
