Outlook 2002 and 2003 using Linux Server (Kolab?)

Has anyone tried to share calendar information using OL XP and OL 2003 using a linux server as opposed to an exchange server?

I've read that Kolab may be used but I wasn't sure if it could be used with different flavors of Outlook.

Basically I'm setting an office to use Linux Servers and they want to share calendering info using two flavors of Outlook.
