MDE File Getting Corrupted

I have an access 2000 database "compiled" to an MDE.

Every so often, my users get the message that the database is locked by "admin" on another computer.  This would happen 20 times per day as an MDB, not it happens 6 - 7 times per month.

All the tables are linked tables (SQL Server).

The MDE file is located on the server.  I have to disconect all users and compact/repair the mde to correct the problem.

What could be causing this?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Try moving it to the local computers so each user has their own copy.  I have a sample DB that would automate upgrading the FE to each user from the server if you are interested.
