Tomcat and heap space

After running for a few weeks, my application ran out of heap space. I'm using Tomcat 5 and I haven't changed any defaults so I'd be grateful if someone could tell me how much heap it takes by default and how I can increase it?

Thanks in advance!

So you're getting an OutOfMemory Exception from your webapp?

You can increase the Xms/Xms values in the env e.g.
OPT_CATALINA with -server Xmx=? and Xms=? (where ? depends on you system)

You need to look at your webapp to find out whether you have a memory leak and also ensure that you do not have servlet-reloading enabled for a production machine.
