Duplicate Entries in Outlook Contacts
Is there a way to get rid of the duplicate entries for your Outlook contacts when viewing your address book? For example, some users have Doe, John three times, one for email, one for fax and one for other home phone number. The weird thing is Doe, John only shows up once if you open Outlook contacts.

That's correct.
So is there a way to just show the email address and not the phone numbers?

Thanks!
I'm assuming that by "viewing your address book" you mean the list of available addressees that appears in the "Select Names" dialog-box when you are addressing a message. If so, then John Doe isn't there three times as evidenced by the fact that he only appears once when you open Outlook Contacts. What you're seeing are all the various addressing possibilities for John Doe. If Outlook didn't present you with all the addressing options for a given entry, then how would you choose between the various addresses for a contact with multiple email or fax addresses? I don't know why the other home phone number is showing up in the address list unless Outlook is taking it as a possible fax number.
Cheers!
