PC unable to detect NSLU2

I have three PC's connected via a Linksys router (WRT54G), one wireless connection.  I am using a shared dial-up internet connection, so have specificed IP addresses for the computers and router.  I have just added a Linksys NSLU2 with a USB hard drive.  The setup software is unable to detect the NSL.  NSL is powered on and indicates "ready."

I have checked the manual, and it indicates that the NSL and computer must be on the same segment (which I do not understand) and that TCP-IP must be installed on the PC, which it is.  There are no KB articles on the Linksys site for this.

What do I do next?

Thank you,
pam

Same segment = same network subnet as you computers are on.
Example: 192.168.1.2 255.255.255.0

ftp://ftp.linksys.com/pdf/nslu2_ug.pdf
Chapter 3: Setup
Chapter 6: Configure segment
Appenix A: Troubleshooting TCP/IP

Normally, no changes are required to your computers.

Hope this helps!

ASKER

Thanks for the link.

My problem is that when I click on "setup" from the installation software, it does not find the device at all.  I can't configure anything.

The device seems to be working in that it indicates it is on and ready and has a drive attached.  I've tried the reset.

I am unable to get it to detect the device.
