Server Side Includes on Apache v2

Last Modified: 2013-11-18
I have setup an Apache Web Server version 2 and having trouble getting SSI to work on it. it is install on Unix server.

I have inserted the following code into the httpd.conf file:

    AddType text/html .shtml
    AddOutputFilter INCLUDES .shtml
    Options +Includes Indexes FollowSymLinks

And the SSI commands that I used in the html files are:

    Server Side Time: <!--#echo var="DATE_LOCAL" -->
    File Last Modified: <!--#echo var="LAST_MODIFIED" -->

I have followed the tutorial on the apache website for server 2 @  http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/howto/ssi.html
It talks about turning on XBitHack but were do I do that.

Is there any one that can help me.

Thanks for any help
