5.1.0 Unknown address error 552 Requested Mail Action aborted exceeded storage allocation
Small Business Server 2003 w/exchange our server does DNS and we also have an outside DNS (ISP DNS server). Some users will get the following NDR report when sending us e-mail. "5.1.0 – Unknown address error 552 – Requested mail action aborted: exceeded storage allocation (delivery attempts:0)" The mailbox is good and there are no storage allocation limits set on our server. We do have alias names for some people ex: RSmith and BSmith in SMTP are the same person. Usually people can send to the primary SMTP name and mail will go through.
Some people will send mail to a person with a valid e-mail account and no alias and they will still get these NDR's. These people who try and send us mail are not blacklisted or blocked within any firewall or Intelligent Message Transfer. There seems to be no rhyme or reason why this happens.
