asked on
restricting access to data
Hello,
I am using frontpage and IIS. I would like to create a website that recieves data from users and stores the data in such a way that I can access that data through a web browser. However, users cannot access the data, they can only add to it. I don't care if data is stored in a file or in an Access database. I'm hoping there is a solution that will require minimum script programming. Maybe there are some options in Frontpage or Access that will allow me to do this.
Regards,
Leo

Hhammash,
Thank you for your help. I thought about your original answer some more and now realize it would be secure enough. I found other alternatives here - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321439

hhammash,
Thank you for your reply. I am interested in keeping the data secure. Is there a way to do this using Microsoft Access ? I've expereminted using forms and an Access database that needs a password to access the database. But in order for this to work, I must set options in Frontpage so that users can add data to the data base. But once I do this, they also have access to read data from the database.
