Problem with SATA WD800's

I have had three of these drives, and I think they're bad...

The problem is when I hook the drive up, it will not power up.  If I disconnect the SATA cable, the drive spins right up.  I have had this happen on different computers so it's not the computer.  I am able to use a WD1800 with no problems what so ever, but these three WD800's will not work.  I have RMA'd one of the drives already and the one they resent me has the same problems as the first drive.

Please help, I am sick of this already.
