OWA on a different port - Exchange 2003 standard

Hi Guys,

I am trying to setup OWA on port 8080.

It works internally but not externally.

I have set the default web site to port 8080 and tested internally via http://serverip:8080/exchange and that all works fine. All 8080 traffic is forwarded to the exchange server.

I have opened up port 8080 on our sonicwall 1260 and this is ok ("telnet publicip 8080" - connects and does not report a failure). I have also setup port 8443 for ssl and tested as above.

When I try to connect, I get page cannot be displayed.

Any ideas? What have I missed?

Thanks

Any reason why you want to use a different port?
OWA does not like being on any other port than 80/443. I have tried to use other ports with very little success. I would strongly suggest putting it back and you should find that the application works correctly.

ASKER

I was having a blond moment!!!

Everything I had done was ok but I assumed that just typing the IP/exchange in the address bar would be ok. I eventually noticed that it said "syntax error - microsoft internet explorer" across the top of the window. Put http:// in front of it and it all works fine!!

I guess this is because port 80 auto translates but everything else needs the http:// to tell it what it is.

I have got citrix web interface on port 80.

Cheers
