Router\Gateway Box tutorial

I just upgraded from 1 to 5 static IP's. I have been looking at tutorials for managing multiple IP's. It looks like there are 2 camps.
1) use SHOREWALL for iptable | firewal | redirection
2) etho alias, ie: eth0:0

the documentation on Shorewall is so-so.

Does anyone have a tutorial or a howto for setup?
my desired set up is:
internet
 |
router\gateway\firewall box ( 1 ip) [eth0]
 | | | |----> (1 ip) [eth1] ----> webserver & mailserver
 | | |------> ( 1 ip)------------>future webserver box
 | |-------->  (1 ip)------------>future webserver box
 | ----->(1 ip) [eth2]----------> to D-Link router(192.168.0.100)  ---> win box* (192.168.0.200) and wireless win laptop(192.168.0.300)

*note: windoze box has a VPM client installed on it for my wifes work connection.

I may just be over analyzing my desired setup. So I am looking for a second opinion on the best way to implement this. If there is a better\easier way pls let me know.

thanks.
