Congrats jaffer - I didn't know you also did break-ins!

Since it's Friday 9pm Oman time, jjafferr will likely not respond to this for awhile, so let's use this window of opportunity to talk about him..  :D

great job ... good to have you here!

Steve
Break-ins?  I don't do that work any more...

Congrats jjafferr!
What's there to say.  Have a look at his profile.  Answered 705 out of 734 - that's 96%.  Look at your own.  60 - 75 percent? There must be something about Oman.
96% is extremely impressive, even better than Shane at 2823 / 3990.

Mine inclues my own questions in an attempt to learn SQL Server, Adobe Acrobat, and various Lounge activities.  Holy cow a lot of those are still open, too.

RT and I apparently have some more CVing to do.
It's been swell jaffer (and I'm sure it will continue to be). Congratulations!

Sam
96% holy <expletive deleted>.  That's worthy of a mention in the upcoming EE Newsletter.

Per mlmcc, 'Questions Participated' really means 'Questions where you made a comment, but was not awared points'.

So instead of Answered 705 out of 734, it's actually 705 out of (705 + 734) = 48.9%.

Learn something new every day.

That makes him sound more normal!  That's why you's da Sage!
Congrats jjaffer ... good to have you there!!
Well done jjafferr! You are good!

Steve
Thank you everybody, especially Ray who assured me that I am normal ;o)

I don't know how long I can stay tight there, as the I travel a lot and the competition is high.

Jim, thanks for this nice get together :o)

jaffer
Congrats Jafer mate!

Thanks Jim for covering me while i've been too lazy to be around much these days..

Dave :-)
To All Experts:

With reference to (please see Member Comments at the bottom of the page):

I have requested my membership to this site to be cancelled:

I thank you guys for this last party for me.

jaffer: I cannot find "Member Comments" at the bottom of your profile.
Jafer mate,

Don't let that dinosaur get to you... He's just on his high horse in the Web/CSS land...

Stay here where it's safe :-)

Dave
BTW, Only you and TPTB can see member comments...
>I cannot find "Member Comments" at the bottom of your profile.
it seems it is only me and the MODs can see it, but you guys better see how you could be treated too.

Would you accept sucha language?
Sorry, I don't.
I wouldn't like to take their cr@p either... Just give it a few days and think about it... We want to see you around bud...

Dave.
jaffer:  Way too early to hang up your spurs.

COBOLdinosaur:  I think now you have to ask yourself: "Now that I know the consequences of my actions, would I have done anything differently?"  I don't expect you to answer but I am certain you know a lot of EE memebers wish it were so.
I agree with the others Jaffer... It would be sad to see you go.
Hey Ray, watch out man, you are next, see CS.
Someone's a naughty boy... http:Q_21455343.html
jjafferr:  You can do what I did in a similar situation aways back:

(1)  Post a question in CS requesting that the 'member profile' be deleted.  Make sure you include that you believe tht the comment was uncalled for, and that the 'infraction' in question was well in the 'fuzzy grey area' of the MA such that a Member comment is uncalled for.

(2)  When the request is denied, clear out your member profile, and create another Q in CS, requesting to cancel your EE membership (I see you have already done that), stating that because of the uncalled for behavior in (1) that you no longer wish to associate with EE.  Also write a few blurbs stating that experts volunteer their time for free, which can be billed out for top dollars, state that having to deal with this behavoir now means that contributing to EE is a waste of your time.

Keep in mind that no TA/Mod/Admin will likely agree with your request, but will possibly remove the member comment.

If anyone disagrees with this practice, I haven't the slightest concern in the world, and will gleefully ignor any comments, re-hashes of the specific question that led to the comment, or posting of a lenghthy description of why anyone is qualified to 'step up to the altar' and preach to other experts.

Featured Expert and all-around good guy.

Everybody have a nice day.
Also, whether the above practice was successful or not, the Mod and I have 'kissed and made up' quite nicely...

Hi jjafferr,

The possibility of you leaving EE is one I hope can be avoided. I have always found you to act responsibly and fairly at EE and believe you were treated unjustly in relation to the question you refer to above.  Anyone in the same circumstances would feel hurt and I would think this would be more so given the fact that you had just reached the top 15 overall (A great achievement!). How can you get beyound this hurt? I suggest that you can you allow yourself to feel OK about yourself and whatever you're feeling.

I encourage you to stay!
Others have also indicated they want you to stay also!
You deserve your entry into the top 15 to be a happy time in your memory.

Steve
Hi jjafferr,

How you do all this?  Congratulations!

Very impressive.

Mike
Ahhh ... the joys of the world of EE... I regulary *##!'n  quit, the reasons are numerous but every 3 months or so I get fed up and on occasion it includes the mods. Take a vacation from EE ... pop back in sometime and you might realize it was not the mods you are here for ... it probably is helping people, interacting with other developers and picking up the occasional trick from seeing other experts responses to a question. Take a vacation and see how feel.

Steve
I agree Steve, and respect your opinion, but this guy's language became personal to me,
I wouldn't say such words to a grade 1 kid, yet they "EE Site" call us Experts and allow those who help them to use such words.
Too much to swallow.

jaffer
I wish you success in all your endeavors, we will miss you and certainly welcome you back if you change your mind.

Steve
An Update:

As witnessed by Jim,
I got an apology from COBOLdinosaur, and the comment have been removed from my profile,
So I am back guys, and I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR SUPPORT, especially you, Jim.

jaffer
Glad to hear it got worked out and that you'll be sticking around!

Sam
It was my pleasure.

Will:  Beep
Good news is rare and this is good news.  'cmon in jaffer, the water's fine.
Welcome back Jaffer!

Steve
You guys suck.  Wizard not a word, Sage not a word.  While I appreciate jaffer's dilema and subsequent return you must realize the world turns.
I appreciated your comment and support Ray.
Don't worry about the others, they all are supportive, and when the time requires such, they all will jump and do the needfull, trust me.

jaffer
GRayL ... who and what are you referring to?
I made Wizard a while back and just got to Sage and not a peep.  I hate to rain on jaffer's parade - I guess my vanity made me do it.  Oh well, maybe Genius will get notice.
That's the problem with these dang deals, it sets a precident.   One time in our office we had the bubble-icious 21-yr. old girl, who had a birthday.  30 people showed up for her birthday luch.  After that, everyone expected the same thing.  Yikes.

Sorry we were late GRay, and thanks for the self-'heads-up'.
I don't think I've had a Congrats post to date either.  Then again, maybe I did am I'm too burnt to remember it.  That's OK, though...1mil is coming up!
Nice subtle hint-dropping there RT...
I was going to use a nice 500 pound weight, but decided that between Monty and Warner Bros., it was already overdone.
Personally I so enjoy using the word 'anvil' into common conversation, and times like this are the only time I can do it...
GRayL: I am not the king of tact by any stretch of the imagination but do you think telling us we suck makes us think better of you? Maybe you should consider posting your own congrats ... I will be sure to post something appropriate !!!
Sorry, I had that coming.
Sorry Ray, I've taken leave from my position as the Officially Unofficial Access TA Points Watcher... Please accept my apology.

Ok boys, we won’t forget again.... Sure you could use Ameba’s list, but that’s cheating.  Still a few bugs I can’t iron out that pop in every so often...

Jim, why don't you close this thread before my recent behavior tears any more stripes off of me.
Please take my (our) belated congrats!

Your top work doesn’t go unnoticed, trust me :)

Dave!
Now if I could just work out how to pack and unpack a beer into a BLOB I’d send one over to you

Where’s Alan Warren when you need him.
>Jim, why don't you close this thread before my recent behavior tears any more stripes off of me.
Should we request this thread be deleted, for the good (well okay, that may be a stretch) of everyone involved?

GRayL - Hurry up and comment on your congrats Q, so I can PAQ and close it.
What congrats Q?
