I have a DELL Inspiron 8200 and want to re-install but i cant boot from CD

I have took everything off the laptop and tried to use xp home system restore, but it just wont boot at all now so i want to re-install XP Home but if i go into the bios it doesnt give me any boot options.

How can I get this dell inspiron 8200 to boot from CD?

Rindi - the boot menu e.g. safe mode, normal or last good configuration.... none of these worked.

However but spending a bit longer in the bios, it was ALT + P to change page and i found out the boot sequence and managed to re-install the laptop and its working fine now.

I didn't mean that boot menu. When you press f12 on that laptop right at the start, you get another menu which lets you select from what you want to boot...
Sorry Rindi, I know what you mean other than the menu to boot into safe, normal, last config... etc there is one that lets you boot from CD, floppy, etc, this on some machines works when you press f8 or f12 generally, however i never got this particular boot menu to appear on this occasion.  As f2 was bios and f12 was boot mode options etc, f8 had no effect.

or maybe it is just me having a bad day.....
No problem, I just thought you might not have pressed f12 at the correct time...
