IIS and asp files

I have a laptop which I have installed IIS on. I am able to access html pages within my root directory but cannot access asp files, can anyone tell me why?

What is shown when you access the asp files?

Did you reinstall the IIS?

Try make sure your IIS Services are running while you typing the url at your browser?

It also may be a script bug? Try remove any "On Error Resume Next" at your asp page, and add "On Error Goto 0" at the top of your asp page, then run it again, see if different result comes out?

Also, try have a references at:

Hi PeteCan,
What OS are you running? Is it XP or Win2000? Is it server or client (i.e., 2000 server or 2000 Pro)?
If it is windows 2003, you need to enable the ASP. Let me know what OS is it?

Have you by any chance checked the Event Logs to see what errors are being reported?

Write a simple ASP page with one line code, like

<%Response.write "Hello world"%>

Access this page from the browser and see what response you get.

As SreeRao, explained, I had a tough time figuring out why my ASP pages wont work on 2003. If you are using IIS6, there is a setting in the IIS6. Open IIS6, Go to the last folder displayed on the IIS6 Manager (Cannot remember the name of this folder). Click that open, Enable Active Server Pages and try again.

If this is not of any help, please see the Event log/IIS log and post what you see there.

Thanks,

Madhu
