How to set up journaling on a single-server exchange2k3 without causing NDR's

I have Exchange 2003 running on a single server for an organization w/ approximately 100 users. I've been asked to set up a journaling (Audit) account for all mailboxes which are contained in one mailbox store. When i enable journaling on that store NDR's are generated from any message coming from an outside sender as undeliverable to the Audit Account (but not the intended recipient). Any Microsoft documents i have found on this subject provide instructions on setting this up in multi-server exchange organizations ("For message journaling to work effectively, the mailbox store has to be mounted on connector servers and on bridgeheads.") Can anybody tell me if this is doable without third party apps in a single server environment? If so, how do i eliminate these NDR's? (several hundred a day) Thanks in advance to all you geniuses out there...

Try to disable journaling and send a message from outside sender directly to Audit mailbox. Will you receive an NDR?

ASKER

Messages come through fine when sent directly to the account.

Ah Victor; I actually went and did that very thing under my own steam just a short while ago and it seems to have addressed the issue. Since you were the only person who replied however, and your answer was right i shall award you the points anyway. Thanks for your help.
