java.Util.List serializable

I have an interface defined like this
public interface SRequest extends javax.ejb.EJBObject {

    public List ListLookup(String Id)
            throws ApplicationException, java.rmi.RemoteException;

I get this when I compile(just as Info)
Kind      Status      Priority      Description      Resource      In Folder      Location
Info                  CHKJ2500I: java.util.List must be serializable at runtime (EJB 2.0: 7.10.5).

how do I make this serializable?
Can I use some other collection to  achieve this? This List returns more than 1000 elements in the list ..will it cause Stack Overflows?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

use java.util.ArrayList instead

as long as you have enough memory in the heap, list can grow
