Combobox Text Format

I have a combobox that I am loading with different text items.  Everyone of them is text formatted as so:

"1\tOne"
"2\tTwo" etc.....

In a textfield they display correctly with the actual tab.  When added to a combobox, the text is displayed as if the tab is not their.  Ex:

"1One"
"2Two" etc....

How can I get the text to display correctly in a combobox?????

//***You can use String.Replace() to replace tab character with spaces. It's not the best solution but it'll work...
string str = "1\tOne";
comboBox1.Items.Add(str);
str = str.Replace("\t","   ");
comboBox1.Items.Add(str);

But if I do that then the spacing will be off when my first numbers jump from 9 to 10.  Since 9 only takes one place and 10 takes 2, the positioning of my words will be off.  Why doesn't the tab work in the combobox?

I think that will work.  I was actually looking for a way to have two words(ex. "4 Word") show up in the textbox separated by a tab, but I suppose this solution will work for me.  Thanks for the assistance.
