Shell Script - Need to create a log file.

I wrote a shell script that backs up three servers on one backup tape. My problem is that I am trying to output everything I see on the screen to a text file which would be my log file.

I tried using:
ufsdump 0ucf /dev/rmt/0n / >> bak20050701.log

But it doesn't write anything and the output comes out on the screen (when testing).

What am I missing?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

ufsdump 0ucf /dev/rmt/0n / >> bak20050701.log 2>&1

I think (not sure though) ufsdump writes it's informationll output to stderr, not to stdout. With the >>filename you redirect stdout to that file, with 2>&1 you redirect stderr to stdout (which was redirected to the file just before)
