index.htm

Hi

My web site it's designed in FrontPage 2003 and uploaded via FTP option.
But, when I type the address to go to www.globalsecurity.com.mk I get error
"Directory Listing Denied"
This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed.
If address is typed as www.globalsecurity.com.mk/index.htm
It works.

Please advice  how to resolve this issue.

Many Thanks

Are you using IIS server?
william007Commented:
if yes, go to start>run>type "inetmgr", under default website, choose your website folder, select the documents tag, click add, put in the "index.htm" will do. This need to be configure at server site...
william007Commented:
the reason is the server directory browing feature in disabled(for security reason), and on the server you need to set the default document like "index.htm" to let it redirect to the pages.

You do need to contact the hosting company to have this resolved, but one thing, if you are using FP components, like forms, etc - do not FTP, this will corrupt your extensions and your forms will not work

Another option is to rename your index.htm page to whatever the host is expecting the home page to be named. Try "index.html" or "default.htm" or "default.html". Your hosting company should provide you with the name that they want for your home page.

Remember that when you rename a file in FrontPage, you will be prompted to update links to that file. Make sure you go ahead and do that. Otherwise, all links to "index.htm" will no longer find this page after you rename it to "index.html".

Also, don't try to rename a file outside of FrontPage, like in the Windows Explorer. Changes like this must be done from within Frontpage.
