on the PIX515E-UR-bun it comes with VAC+ card.

Can i take the card out and sell the VAC+ card?  I don't think i need it, i only have at most 5 people access the VPN.

As i understand it, it's only useful if i have to alot of people access the VPN.

What does the VAC+ do?

Would it affect my pix?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Yes, you can take that VAC+ card out and the PIX will function just fine.
It is a VPN accelerator card that will only really make a difference with *many* vpn connections. It will support up to 2000 simultaneous VPN sessions.
The PIX alone without the card will still support multiple VPN sessions..

You can't buy a plain jane 515 any more (new). Only the 515e.
If you're looking on ebay or someplace, then whichever one you can get..
