msimn.exe applicatin error. The memory could not be read
I am receiving the following error every time I exit Outlook Express 6 on a Windows 2000 SP4 machine
msimn.exe - application error
The instruction at "0xe850fc45" referenced memory at "0xe850fc45. The memory could
not be read.
Click on OK to terminate the program
I have downloaded all of the windows updates that are available. I have run several virus programs and am still receiving the error message.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

My problem is:
- This error does not appear systematically, but once it appears I can find no way to get out of it except by rebooting
- However when I disabled my Norton Security, I could immediately exit from the Error
Hope this helps

You said it occurs every time in your original question. Now it occurs only once in awhile. There is some program interfering. Disable antivirus and antispyware and see if you still have the problem.

war1,
I uninstalled all of the McAfee applications and then only installed the virus program. This has seemed to fix the problem.
Thanks for your help.
