I'd like to design a Table that has some specific formatting applied to it and can be easily created as an ASP.NET tag. However I'd like the user to be able to enter content into the CENTER cell of this table by simply putting HTML between the opening and closing tags, like follows.

Any HTML can go here.

I know I need to use the HtmlTextWriter Class, but I'm not sure how to accomplish this. How can I specify where to put text contained between the two tags? The "InnerWriter" property seems to assume that I will pass the text to it through a variable, which I DO NOT want to do.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Ok the thing I think your looking for is this

<ParseChildren(False)> _

which goes on a custom control like this
<ParseChildren(False)> _
Public MustInherit Class WebControlBodyBase
    Inherits Control
    Implements INamingContainer

But heres the page that show me how to make custom controls that maintain state as well <-- the gotcha
