Frame size adjust for PPTP fix?

I am unable to establish VPN connections from my ADSL circuit (with router), however I can connect fine if I plug the PC into a different connection type.

Am completely stumped! One recommendation I have had is to change the Max Frame Size on my network card to a smaller level, as the ATM encapsulation might be causing problems with packets that are too big. Unfortunately, my network card doesn't have this option in the advanced settings!

Anyone know of a workaround, perhaps a registry setting maybe? Or indeed, any other thoughts on this bizarre problem?

(It's a not a firewall or routing issue)

Thanks!
