Merlin/novatel G201 modem... **500pts, urgent fix needed**

***500 points, as urgent fix needed!***

I've been given one of the above GPRS card modems (without drivers or anything) and been told to get it working.

I have found a driver for winXP, but on installation this says 'unable to intialise the device (code 10', I have tried installing it as a 'standard pcmcia card modem', but this brings up the same error message...

I have tried searching various other forums to no avail. Please help, my boss keeps asking if it's sorted yet!!!

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Is this the driver you are using?

Is it conflicting with any other installed device?

Have a quick look at this thread for some basic troubleshooting:

yes, that's the driver... No conflicting devices.

That thread raises a good point though, I'll look for another card to make sure that this one is ok.

thanks

Error 10 leads me to want to look at resources... the PCMCIA card may be grabbing resources not available

It turns out that the card is duff. We haven't been able to obtain another card for various internal reasons, but after much testing and researching, that is the only remaining option. thanks for the help!
