Does Parallel ATA to SATA convertor has speed loose ?

Hello experts!

I am happy owner of GA-8AENXP-D and in box has PATA --> SATA converter.
I want to build RAID array, but GA-8AENXP-D can set RAID only to SATA.

I has 200 GB PATA HDD and what to “convert” it to SATA. However - is this converter will loose speed and is this loosing of speed is significant?

ASAP ! - faster of you will get all points!

I reckon that there wont be any significant speed loss. You will probably find there is a bit (a little) of speed loss because of the conversion process. Nothing to worry about.
