Sounds like search algorithm

I am writing a word search for which i have the code. I want to add the 'Sounds-Like' search also. i. e if the user types KAR instead of CAR, the search should list CAR also. can anybody give me the code or any links

Soundex was mainly designed for English last names.
Metaphone or double metaphone is generally considered superior
