Hey all,

Is it possible to link to a Lotus Notes database by way of an <a href> tag?

Thanks!

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Yes, if the client machine has lotus notes 6+ properly installed.

If the machine does have notes 6+ installed properly it will accept any of the following syntax.....

notes://servername/databaseName?OpenDatabase
notes://servername/__dbReplicaID?OpenDatabase
notes://servername/databaseName/viewName?OpenView
notes://servername/__dbReplicaID/viewUNID?OpenView
notes://servername/databaseName/formName?OpenForm
notes://servername/__dbReplicaID/formUNID?OpenForm
notes://servername/databaseName/0/documentUNID?OpenDocument
notes://servername/__dbReplicaID/0/documentUNID?OpenDocument

This will cause notse to launch (if it is not already running) and go to the referenced object (if it exists). This is very nice when you need to send a link via the web but the application the link references needs to be thick notes client.
