We have a Windows Server 2003 running on our network with Active Directory and Group Policies. Our network is mainly XP SP2 machines on the domain.<br />

We have restricted Internet Access through Group Policy using the Content Advisor control. e.g. we do not allow access to unrestricted sites. They have to ask us which sites they want!<br />
<br />
The majority of machines update at sparadic times. But some machines do not update at all! Is there a way of getting these machines to update to this policy, who on the face of things have the same set up as machines which do update successfuly. I have tried gpupdate, rebooting server and machines but still no joy.<br />

Is there a way of getting the group policy onto machines, I have 'enforced' selected on the policy but still no joy on these troublesome machines.<br />

Group Policy Update problems

Windows Server 2003 was based on Windows XP and was released in four editions: Web, Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter. It also had derivative versions for clusters, storage and Microsoft’s Small Business Server. Important upgrades included integrating Internet Information Services (IIS), improvements to Active Directory (AD) and Group Policy (GP), and the migration to Automated System Recovery (ASR).
