How can I capture a Panasonic phone systems output to a Epson LX 300

I have a Panasonic phone system that outputs data to a Epson LX 300 dot matrix printer via a parallel port.  I can plug this into the back of a pc, but how can I capture the data?  I want to do this so I can have a call log in a database rather than reams of paper.  I have some basic VB.Net skills if that helps.  Any ideas guys?

You cannot input data from a parallel interface but if you actually can plug the printer cable in the back of your pc your Pbx isn't using a parallel interface but a serial one.

Serial interface has a 25 female d-connector while parallel one has a 36 pin male amphenol connector which isn't expected to be present on a pc.
If your phone system uses a serial interface you can use to log data with a simple class available for free here:
Before starting you have to check if your pc has a serial interface and you have to find  a 9 pin female to 25 pin male serial adaptor.

newuser 4,
You are absolutley correct about the input to my computer and the output from the phne system is from a 25 pin male connector. It actually uses 2 adaptors connected via cat5 cable.  Will try the class at the weekend, as it is a bit of a project rather than a requirement.  Thanks for your help.

It is a KX TD 2132E.  Do you know this phone system.  If you do is there a way of altering the printer output. For example outputting who has called and which extension has picked it up when they lift the handset, rather than the current system where it only prints the information once the call has finished?
