Remote Users can not send since server was replaced

We lost one of our Lotus Notes/ Domino server last Thursday.  It was the one in the firewall DMZ.  Since then, 3 of my 4 remote users can not send emails.  They can connect to the server and open databases.  They can replicate their mail, and thereby get their new emails.  But they cannot send emails.  Any ideas?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I would check their person document in the NAB to see what mail server is listed. Also, check the location document in the names.nsf on their local machine, this will also have the name of the mail server. If either (or both) of these is the server that is no longer with us (RIP) then change it to another mail server.

Another method around this issue is to cluster your mail servers. If you care to hear more about this submit a question to me and I will be happy to help you.

It would help if you said more about what happens when they do try to send mail. Look at the messages on their status bar as well as any message that finally comes up. Check to see whether messages are sitting in their local mail.box file. Look for messages in their local log.nsf.

The question, I have discovered , did not reflect all of the complexity.  We had our Lotus Notes consultant find a fix.  Thanks.
