Pinging problem

I'm having a problem with one PC on the network. I installed it and the domainserver assigned it the IP address Everything works fine from that PC, I can ping any PC by name/IP address. However when i goto ping it from out domain server, I time out. It's resolving the name cause I originally pinged it by name. If i'm on that PC i just setup and type in ping "pcname" it comes up fine, but i'm assuming its just looping. Any ideas?

u mean u can't resolve a that particular machine from another machine?
has the PC registered success fully in the DNS or WINS server?

how about doing a ping -a <PC IP> from other machine and see if they can resolve the name

It appears that it can't resolve that name when i ping from the server. Its a fresh install and that PC is working fine for now. I'll give it a few hours to see if the server will reconize it or not.
ipconfig /all

tracert to where you want to ping and can't

If you can't ping by name from the server, can you ping the IP only?  If you can, check the WINS and DNS config on the server.
when you do an ipconfig /all, what is the full computer name?  Is the domain name attached to the computer name such as or is it just pc?

It was my own idiotic self that caused the problem. I had set our firewall to have an IP, i later disconnected the firewall for a few months and forgot i assigned it that IP.
