"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Spybot SD 1.4
Adaware 6 SE
Microsoft Antispyware Beta

These are all programs which will:  a) do what you want;  and b) are free to download and use.  Just google for them:-)

The above will not not detect all keyloggers, though they will detect some.

I highly recommend RootkitRevealer for this purpose:

You can watch taskManager for activity

What I'd like to see is a key generator to the keylogger to let 'em self destruct as often as they wish

YOu can never detect all keyloggers using ordinary means because a) they may trojan the OS rookit style, or b) be implemented in hardware.

To detect a rootkit-style keylogger you may need to boot to a trusted OS image to do the scanning.

To detect a hardware keylogger you may need to physically examine the device.
