What I have currently is a 100px wide dropdownlist bound to a dataview. The dropdownlist is chopping off the text in the dropdownlist. The problem with expanding the width of the dropdownlist is that it pushes all of the controls to the right of the dropdownlist off the page. Ideally the width of the dropdownlist would need to be 300px however I only have 100px of real estate.
I need a dropdownlist control that has 2 width properties. The first width property is the same as what the ddl has currently, it sets the width of the control. The second width property should control the width of the ddl when it is expanded. So when expanded the actual control stays at 100px and the drop down portion expands to 300px or whatever width I need.
What I am trying to accomplish is a feature in PowerBuilder (which I do not know) for Windows. The drop down list in powerbuilder when expanded has a width that is adjustable and completely seperate from the width of the actual drop down list.
Can someone instruct me on how to build something like this or recommend a 3rd party custom control I can purchase. I have already googled the web and came up empty.
