I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The GD-Library must be included with php, not apache.

See http://www.php.net for information on how to compile php

See http://www.entropy.ch/software/macosx/php/ to get a precompiled php
package that runs on Mac OS X.

You can also take a look at http://www.apachefriends.org/
They provide a package containing pre-configured apache, php (with several modules,
including GD), mysql and other neat stuff.
