Stupid CEO sends out 2000 emails
Hi there experts,
One of my clients stupidly got excited that we one the bid for the olympics and decided to send out over 2000 emails with the joke attachment of a picture of the Paris bid t-shirts being sold half price.
This has ground their exchange server to a halt.
I can see all the messages in the queue and if I stop the SMTP service then we can get out onto the internet, however as soon as I start it again, the emails start flooding in. Most of these emails are message delays, some undeliverables.
I have disabled the connections on the default virtual SMTP server queue, but the mails keep piling up as fast as I delete them.
Any ideas as to what I can do experts? I have SBS2000.
