Remove Old Exchange 5.5 server from list in Exchange Task Wizard Create Mailbox function

Two years ago I had an Exchange Server 5.5 installation on server A.  I installed Exchange Server 2000 on server B and replicated my users' mailboxes to the Exchange 2000 server.  Since then I have removed Exchange 5.5 from the old server.

Today I created a new user and when I went to Exchange Tasks, Create Mailbox the old server, now non-existant, server was listed as the default selection and I had to select the Exchange 2000 server.  How can I remove the old Exchange 5.5 server from the list?

Did you just uninstall the Exchange 5.5 server or did you go through the procedures for removing the server from the site before uninstalling 5.5?

I can't remember.  It's been over two years since I did it.  The Exchange 5.5 server doesn't show up in System Manager anywhere.

That would be the only way you would see it if you didn't remove it from the site before uninstalling the software. Therefore, as far as I know, you will not be able to remove it. Possibly through ADSIedit but I'm not sure on that account.

Good Luck,
