Global catalog server+reseup DHCP

After promoting server 2003 from DC to PDC how do I make it a global catalog server,what exactly is this?
and how do I resetup DHCP ( it was on my previous server that will be reinstalled)

If this server is the first DC in the domain, it will automatically become a global catalog server.  You can check the role by using these instructions:

To install DHCP, go to Control Panel --> add/remove Programs --> Windows Components...add DHCP.  Then Authorize the DHCP server in Active Directory ...then configure your scopes

Is there a way that I could import the settings from the previous PDC. So I could have exactly the same scopes in this New PDC.
