VPN

Hello, I need some assistance with VPN. Here is our network setup:

1) RoadRunner Business Class Cable (Cisco Router/Modem)
2) WatchGuard Firebox x500
3) D-Link 24 port switch

What is the best setup for a VPN. I want something that is easy to setup/manage, and that will work good with our setup. I've tried working with WatchGuard's MUVPN, but I can never get it set up.

Do you reccomend the Watchguard MUVPN? Or do you suggest a third-party VPN?

Thanks!!

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Also, I'd like to add: I'm considering a RV082 from Linksys. I figure that I can put it behind the Firebox, and allow VPN through the Firebox...and have a simplified VPN setup.

You would use the  WatchGuard Firebox x500.  These devices are great for both site to site VPN tunnels and Mobile User vpn's.

If you follow the documentation closely it should not be difficult to setup the client access and/or site to site vpn.

You might want to check the specs and make sure you won't have more the 50 users on this model etc...
There are only 5 remote access licenses as well.

Your network model above it a great small network design.

Layer 2 unmanaged switch - D-Link 24 port switch
Firewall/VPN router - WatchGuard Firebox x500
ADSL/Cable bridging router - RoadRunner Business Class Cable (Cisco Router/Modem)

Great, thanks. We only have 10 workstrations in our main office, so it should suffice. I'll try to reconfigure it tomorrow. I'll open another ticket tomorrow if it won't work. =)
