Network Design Help using cisco 2950 switches

I'm looking for design/configuration advice.

I have 3 buildings

Building A has 5 2950 switches.  S1 has the firewall, most servers, and the other 4 switches connected to it.  It also has a fiber cable going to switch S6 in building B.

Building B has 3 switches.  S6 is connecting to S1 in buidling A by fiber and is connected to S9 in building C by fiber.

Building C has 1 switch.  S9 is connected to S6 in building B by fiber.

There is no way to connect S9 directly to S1.  I'm just taking this over and I'm unsure how they are all configured now. I've been unable to find good information on switches.

Thanks for the help.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Currently, bldg C is at risk, because of these points of failure:
1) link between s9 to s6
2) s6 itself or the fiber port(s)/module(s) failing
3) link between s6 to s1
4) fiber port/module linking s1 to s6

You say there's no way whatsover to run fiber between bldg C & A?
If so, & if it's critical that bldg C have connectivity to bldg A, then you might consider running another fiber line between bldg A & B, put in a fiber repeater in bldg B, & link it to s9 in bldg C.  Not the best situation either, but hopefully will eliminate a point of failure or more.

If you're looking for information on Cisco switches in particular, either visit the product literature pages for the 2950 series:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps628/prod_literature.html

or do a search for particular areas you want to see.  For example, search for "configuring vlans 2950" will point you to how to setup VLANs for this series.

Hope this helps.
