Outlook 2003 - Follow-Up Reminders not working properly
I have a user who has Outlook 2003 (set in cached mode thru an Exchange Server) and she uses the follow-up flag with reminders on a daily basis. The reminders were working fine until a few days ago. Now the reminder dialog box does not come up nor does the sound alert ring for the reminders. The items she flags are e-mails in her “inbox” and in another folder she created called “pending changes”. I did a search on experts-exchange and found the following link: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;286166
It does talk about Calendar and Task reminders but it doesn’t refer to e-mail follow-up reminders. I did try running the outlook /cleanreminders with Outlook closed but that still did not correct the problem. Any other suggestions on how to correct this problem would be appreciated. Thank you.

Was this working before she created the Pending Changes folders?
Was this working before she created the Pending Changes folders?

It appears from speaking to the user that the reminders did work but she is not sure it worked from the Pending Changes folder. After reading a little more about this, it appears that the reminders will only work from four specific folders: Inbox, Contacts, Calendar, and Tasks. So maybe this is the answer to my problem. If it had been working before, maybe it only worked from the Inbox and not the Pending Changes folder. I also tried making Pending Changes a subfolder of the Inbox -- but that didn't seem to work either. It seems that for a reminder to appear it has to be in one of those four folders.....
